Workshop Description: (1 Week - 4 Students)
In this entry level course you'll learn how to build a soprano ukulele from start to finish using raw materials. We'll make basic instruments in this class (similar to a Martin Style 0) that will let you get your feet wet and learn some of the fundamentals of instrument making.
In class we 'll teach you how to make the parts, assemble the components, and fine tune the set up so your uke plays beautifully. Along the way you'll also learn what tools are needed to build these little ones, and you'll get some good tips on how to set up your own shop to make them.
This course is also an excellent introduction to buiding acoustic instruments. We'll cover essentially all the same steps it takes to make guitars, but on a scaled down more simple level. No prior instrument making experience is necessary to participate in this class - just come ready to learn and join in on the fun!
