"I learned much more than just how to build a guitar at the Whetstone School.  I learned about tackling problems with patience, and I gained a broader understanding of tools and how to use them efficiently and effectively."

Workshop Description: (3 Weeks - 3 Students)

koa-guitar-by-shThis course is for returning students and those who want to delve deeper into the acoustical properties of their instruments. The syllabus encourages more creative expression, and students will learn to choose a body style, scale length, and tonewoods that best suit their design objectives and playing style. Then we'll show you how to layout the bracing and refine the construction of the guitar to meet those objectives.

Styling will be a step up from our Level One course and students can choose between several rosette and purfling options.

As in our Level One course, our approach teaches you how all the parts in the guitar relate to each other holistically. You'll learn how to make the various components accurately and efficiently, and we'll show you how to construct the neck and the body using methods you can replicate in your own workshop.

Once assembly is complete we'll then teach you how to set up your instrument to play flawlessly, while also maximizing it's acoustical potential. Please feel free to contact Scott directly if you have any questions about this class.
